Silva Valley Parkway Bike Project
Silva Valley Parkway might get funding for a bike project tomorrow (Thursday March 6, 2014) if the El Dorado County Transportation Commission votes “YES”. Our District 1 Supervisor, Ron Mikulaco (BOSone@edcgov.us), is a voting member of the Commission.
Est. completion date: July 2015
Est. cost $1,678,000
The EDCTC staff report on all 14 competitive applications for the $10M in Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality funds describes the process and results. The staff recommendation ends up providing full or partial funding for all 14 applications, which is a pretty cool outcome. This project ranks 8th out of 14.

Interactive PHOTO MAP TOUR shows you where this project is located and several photos of the area along the way.
Here is quote from the application:
Design and construction approximately 1.1 miles of Class I Bike Path east of Silva Valley Parkway from Harvard Way to the Appian Way intersection at Silva Valley Parkway. This project proposes an uncontrolled mid-block cross walk across Silva Valley Parkway to connect the proposed class I bike path to the existing New York Creek Trail (east) Class I bike trail.
Also, design and construct approximately 0.9 miles of Class II Bike Lane along northbound and southbound Silva Valley Parkway from Appian Way intersection to Green Valley Road. A Class II bike lane is also proposed along southbound Silva Valley Parkway from Appian Way to Harvard Way.
The project would include installation of storm drain culverts, fencing, grading, paving, signing, striping, pavement markings, adjusting utilities to grade and relocating signs. The proposed project is within the existing El Dorado County right of way.
